I thought I should define
the titles you might see before and after each dog's name, both on
my Photos Page and on the Pedigrees. Here is a list of most
titles you will see. I have given a brief description, but for
a more detailed description you can go to AKC website (see Links
Page) for more information.
CH -
This represents an AKC Breed Champion. You might
also see some designations as to country AM CAN CH - American and
Canadian Champion or AM INT CH - American and International
Champion
CD -
This is the Obedience Title - Companion
Dog
CDX -
This is the Obedience Title - Companion Dog
Excellent. To obtain this title you must have already obtained
a CD. Therefore, the CD is dropped and the CDX
replaces.
UD -
This is the Obedience Title - Utility Dog. To obtain
this title you must have already obtained a CD and CDX.
Therefore, the CDX is dropped and the UD replaces.
BN - This
is the Obedience Title - Beginner Novice. A pretty new title,
more of an introduction to Obedience.
RN - This
is also an Obedience Title - Rally Novice. Something like a
road rally, but with dogs and obedience.
RA - Rally
Advanced. To obtain this tiltle you must have already obtained
an RN. Therefore the RN is dropped and RA
replaces.
RE - Rally
Excellent. To obtain this tiltle you must have already
obtained an RA. Therefore the RA is dropped and RE
replaces.
CGC -
This a Canine Good Citizen. This title is
available to all dogs, purebred or not, that demonstrate Good
Citizenship.
TT -
This signifies the dog has be Temperament
Tested.
TDI -
This shows the dog is (or was) registered as a Therapy Dog
with Therapy Dogs International.
JH -
This is the Hunting Title - Junior
Hunter.
VC -
This is the Versatility Title given by the ISCA for dogs
that have demonstrated their abilities in all three
disciplines: Conformation, Obedience and
Hunting.
NA -
This is the Agility Title - Novice
Agility.
NAP - Same
as NA but for older dogs who need to jump a lower height.
NAJ -
This is the Agility Title - Novice Agility Jumpers with
Weaves.
NJP - Same
as NAJ but for older dogs who need to jump a lower
height.
OA -
This is the Agility Title - Open Agility. To obtain
this title you must have already obtained a NA. Therefore, the
NA is dropped and the OA replaces.
OAJ -
This is the Agility Title - Open Agility Jumpers with
Weaves. To obtain this title you must have already obtained a
NAJ. Therefore, the NAJ is dropped and the OAJ
replaces.
AX -
This is the Agility Title - Agility Excellent. To
obtain this title you must have already obtained a NA and
OA. Therefore, the OA is dropped and the AX
replaces.
AXJ -
This is the Agility Title - Agility Excellent Jumpers with
Weaves. To obtain this title you must have already obtained
a NAJ and OAJ. Therefore, the OAJ is dropped and the AXJ
replaces.
